
What do you need to get a CDA credential?
Earning the CDA credential requires 120 hours of training in eight CDA competency areas. You must also have 480 hours of experience working with children in a group setting. This is something that should be within three years before your application. Once these requirements are complete, the Council for Professional Recognition requires you to complete the CDA Assessment Process. This includes the following components.- Professional portfolio that includes family questionnaires, Reflective Statements of Competence, Resource Collection Items and a personal philosophy statement.

- You must also find a Professional Development Specialist to do your Verification Visit
