What is a CDA certification? What makes it great?
A CDA or Child Development Associate certification is a widely recognized certification in the Early Childhood Development field. It is awarded only to those who have met the competency standard approved by the Council.
This certification can take you places and will advance your career in Nebraska. Earning a CDA certification means that you have proven to the Council that you are competent enough to nurture young minds.
How can an eligible applicant earn this certification?
Eligible professionals who apply for a CDA certification will need to accomplish 120 hours of professional Early Childhood Development training. This includes 10 hours in each of the 8 subject areas specified by the Council. Applicants will also need to complete 480 hours of experience working with children under the specific group of your choosing.
After accomplishing these requirements, submit your applications online. Request a verification visit afterwards and then it’s time to take the exam. Applicants who are successful in passing both the visit and the exam will be awarded the certification.
